About the Role This is a temporary Part Time position (until February 2026) at 30.4 hours per fortnight within the Occupational Therapy department. Working at the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) provides a unique and exciting opportunity to work alongside children and their families during pivotal life phases. You will be responsible for providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention services to inpatient and/or outpatient infants, children, and adolescents, to support child development and maximize participation in daily activities and quality of life. You will have opportunities to broaden your knowledge, skills, and experience across a variety of pediatric areas in an acute tertiary hospital setting.
What you'll achieve: In collaboration with patients and their families and the multidisciplinary team, provide assessment of function and developmental needs and interventions that facilitate care plans and appropriate discharge.Evidence-based and outcome-focused intervention that makes an impact on meaningful outcomes for infants, children, and young adults during their individual healthcare journey.Your skills and experience: Be an established pediatric OT looking to expand your clinical knowledge and skills within a multidisciplinary team environment.Experience working within acute care or a hospital environment.Experience working with children who require developmental support.Be interested in working within RCH tertiary multidisciplinary clinics (alongside engaged medical teams) to ensure children with rare conditions access the supports they need within the community.Have confidence in educating patients/parents/discipline staff/multidisciplinary team and members of the wider community to minimize risk and promote successful outcomes for patient care.Be committed to evidence-based practice, and integration into everyday clinical care.Other requirements: Recognised graduate-entry qualification in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor, Masters or Doctorate).Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain.Valid Working with Children Check.Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willing to obtain.Compliance with RCH's "Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases" procedure.Application process To apply, you will need a resume and a tailored cover letter outlining your skills, experience, and suitability for the position in line with the requirements of the position description.
