Occupational Therapist Grade 1 or Grade 2Job No:WDHS1653 Location:Hamilton Grade 1 or Grade 2 Occupational Therapist Fixed Term Part Time - Minimum 32 hours per fortnight (until end June 2025) with the opportunity for ongoing employment at end of fixed term. About the role The Occupational Therapy Department has a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our team. The Occupational Therapy Department provides Occupational Services in a multi-disciplinary setting to acute, rehabilitation, aged care and community clients of Western District Health Service and other agencies.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential for this position. As part of this role, you will be working across the acute, subacute and community teams.
Duties and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop individualised interventions to meet individual client needs.Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team, to ensure the optimum outcomes for clients.Complete accurately and legible documentation of assessments, interventions and client progress, adhering to legal and organisational standards.Maintain up to date client records and assist with statistical data collection according to organisation/program requirements.Actively participate in the development and evaluation of programs aimed at improving client outcomes.Assist with the supervision and mentoring of students (including work experience placements, allied health assistants and occupational therapy students).Contribute to continuous quality improvement activities and initiatives.Participate in meetings, seminars and conferences as directed by the organisation.Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.Strictly adhere to workplace confidentiality requirements in all aspects of practice.About You Selection Criteria: Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalentRegistration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Proven experience in providing occupational therapy services in a multidisciplinary setting, particularly in acute, rehabilitation, aged care and community servicesStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organisational and time management skills and a strong attention to detail.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamA commitment to professional development and maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledgeAbility to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.Strong attention to detail and accuracyCommitment to the WDHS Values of Integrity, Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Empathy and the ability to exhibit behaviours that reflect our values.What we can Offer You Salary packaging options ($9,010) and meals and entertainment card ($2,650.00)Novated vehicle leasingExcellent employment conditions and staff health and wellbeing supportive cultureProposed Interview Date: Week Commencing Monday 10 February 2025 The successful candidate must have or obtain a National Criminal Police Check.
