About Us Infrastructure Directorate The Infrastructure Directorate is the City of Stirling's largest and most diverse Directorate, managing many of the City's important assets and services while delivering a multi-million-dollar portfolio of projects.
This Directorate is responsible for the ongoing delivery of the City's sustainability program, as well as contributing heavily to the City of Stirling's vibrant local economy, liveable neighbourhoods and thriving communities.
About the Position We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Horticultural Trainees in our production nursery. This one-year program combines on-the-job training with formal education, leading to a Certificate III in Horticulture. As a trainee, you will gain hands-on experience in various horticultural practices, including propagation, potting, planting, spraying, fertilising, and maintaining nursery hygiene.
Key Responsibilities Assist the nursery team with plant production activities.Participate in propagation, potting, planting, spraying, and fertilising tasks.Maintain nursery hygiene and report any equipment repairs needed.Attend regular toolbox meetings focused on workplace safety and work practices.Maintain the quality of work to meet the City's standards.Training Program: Enter into a training contract within 21 days of starting work.Participate enthusiastically in the agreed training plan.Take advantage of supervised workplace activities and learning opportunities.Keep your training record journal up to date and accurate.About You The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role.
