Job Summary Under the direct supervision of the Infectious Diseases clinic medical director, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for providing direct patient care, complex care coordination, administrative functions, teaching, and research services.
The NP will serve as a member of a comprehensive team of health care professionals to deliver high quality, efficient, and complex care coordination for adult patients being evaluated and treated for infectious disease conditions.

Please note: An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications NP 1: Minimum two (2) years recent experience working as an RN in one of the following settings: Infectious Diseases Clinic, Ambulatory, Critical Care.NP 2: Six (6) months of NP experience and minimum two (2) years recent experience working as an RN in one of the following settings: Infectious Diseases Clinic, Ambulatory, Critical Care; OR a minimum of six months of recent (within last three years) experience as an NP in Infectious Diseases in an ambulatory or inpatient setting.Preferred Qualifications N/A
License/Certification California driver's license (CDL) if required for position.Must hold current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work.Accepted Certifications for this position: (A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC).

(It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).Must have submitted enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day.
CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments.Must hold current AHA BLS and ACLS as minimum requirement.State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice.UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed.
In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day.
Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
