Network & Security Gateway Engineers

The Technology Operations & Support Branch (TOSB) is seeking experienced Network & Security Gateway Engineers to join our team.
As we modernize our computer platforms, you will play a key role in implementing security hardening measures and transitioning multiple business systems from legacy platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
Build, configure, and maintain a virtualized server fleet across multiple domains, supporting corporate, border, and public-facing services.
Provide technical expertise to projects and business areas, leading technical deliverables.
Support the management and operation of the Department's secure Internet gateway, data center, and network services.
Monitor and support network and gateway systems, including Data Centre technologies, SMTP email systems, SSL Gateways, Load Balancers, Proxy systems, Firewalls, and IPS.
Implement project work to support departmental initiatives and undertake enhancement and remediation activities.
Transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and maintain appropriate documentation in line with recordkeeping policies.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Proven ability to work within a structured IT governance framework and deliver results in line with Commonwealth standards and policies.
Strong management skills with experience in leading and planning projects to achieve high standards within budget and tight timeframes.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Experience in taking ownership of designs and transition plans, coordinating with ICT operational teams to resolve technical issues.
High level of professionalism, sound judgment, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate high levels of motivation.
Deliverables Include:
Designs and patterns for ongoing use.
Technical specifications and service design documentation.
Migration strategies, project plans, and high-level solution designs.
Standard operating procedures, security impact assessments, and technical security designs.
Status reports and briefing materials.
