Network Engineer
Contract Duration: Six months with a strong possibility of extensions
Location: Sydney - Mascot 3 days on-site
Pay: Approximately $800 per day, including super
Role Overview:
The Network Engineer will join our client on a 6-month contract with the potential for extension. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in wireless networking and demonstrate the ability to undertake both BAU tasks and project-based work. The primary focus will be supporting this enterprise client account, with opportunities to engage in projects with other clients to further develop skills and capabilities in relevant technologies.
Responsibilities:
Cisco Wireless Technologies: Configure and manage Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC) to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Implement and maintain the Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for secure network access. Exposure to Cisco DNA-C for network automation and assurance. Networking Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in both Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues. NOC Operations: Work seamlessly in a Network Operations Centre (NOC) environment, responding to incidents and maintaining network health. Utilize ITIL framework for efficient incident management and service delivery. Project Work: Collaborate with project teams to implement new wireless solutions and network enhancements. Ensure successful project delivery, meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations. Skills and experience required:
Technical Skills: Proven experience in wireless network design, site surveys, and Cisco WLC and ISE configuration. Exposure to Cisco DNA-C and proficiency in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking technologies. Experience: Background in a Network Operations Centre (NOC) or project services. Demonstrated ability to balance BAU responsibilities with project work effectively. Certifications: Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) in wireless and routing/switching are highly desirable. ITIL certification is a plus. Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Problem-Solving: Proven ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex network issues in a timely manner.
