The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. Deadly Opportunity In The First Nations Branch as EL1 Program Manager, you will be improving the experiences and outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants and staff.
The First Nations Group takes the lead in the NDIA's efforts to enhance access and outcomes for First Nations people with disabilities. The First Nations Group drives system reform, policy development, and strategic initiatives that ensure First Nations voices are central to decision-making.
Where you can add value This role involves working closely with senior leaders, internal teams, and external stakeholders to provide advice on complex issues, ensuring that project and policy outcomes align with the broader Agency's strategic direction.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Managing the facilitation of culturally safe environments for First Nations peoples and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders. Building and maintaining relationships with First Nations communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to manage successful project and/or policy development and implementation. Managing business improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and performance of outcomes for First Nations peoples. Managing teams to deliver high-quality projects and policy initiatives, ensuring timely preparation and submission of accurate reports and briefs. This position requires strong skills in policy development and/or project management, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Graphic design and data & analytics skills may be considered as desirable skillsets.
