In this business-critical position, a rare opportunity is offered for a nationwide remit and the opportunity to contribute to the national growth strategy of our Big Chief Hire business. Reporting directly to the Group General Manager, this senior appointment will be responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and management of all aspects of the business backed and supported by the Group's experienced corporate infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to shape and steer the strategic direction of Big Chief Hire operations nationwide.
This role is a high-impact position within Big Chief Hire brand.
Primary Responsibilities: Formulate the strategic, business and action planning nationwide and implement for successDrive innovative strategies to enhance operational efficiency and financial performance at a national levelAnalyse the performance of individual states/ branches, providing comprehensive monthly reports and project forecastsEnsure national sales revenue, profit, and margin targets are met or exceededReview, analyse and manage performance across Big Chief Hire nationallyIdentify new opportunities/areas for greenfield sites supporting the growth and expansion strategyIdentify new and upcoming major civil construction projects and seek out new business opportunitiesDevelop strategies to attract and retain customers, focusing on both existing and potential clientsDevelop sustainable stakeholder partnerships in the civil construction industry and public sector to ensure tender opportunities are maximisedCreate and implement robust marketing strategies to strengthen customer relationships and expand Big Chief Hire brand, market presence and value propositionOversee the effective utilisation of the nationwide fleet of machines and equipmentManage ageing equipment to ensure it meets operational standardsMaintain accurate inventory levels to support repair and maintenance needsManage commercial agreements with suppliers and customers to ensure favourable terms and conditionsKey Skills and Qualifications: Strategic Thinking and PlanningStrong commercial and financial acumen ensuring overall business performance and sustainabilityMarketing, Sales, Account Management and Business Development skillsAbout You Our ideal candidate will have proven and significant executive leadership experience ideally within the heavy plant and machinery hire industry sector. You will be a strategically minded, inspirational leader, who can drive and motivate teams to achieve success. You will have the ability to research, identify and secure new opportunities that result in the delivery of our growth and expansion strategy. You will possess the drive and determination to create the vision, execute business plans and develop your people within the BCH team.
You will have the opportunity to be based in either SA, Qld, NSW or Victoria but must have the flexibility to travel frequently and attend conferences, trade shows and industry events and forums.
A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated commensurate with skills, knowledge and experience including a commission structure based on revenue and growth targets.
