To learn more about headspace and the services we offer, visit headspace.org.au.About the roleThis exciting and diverse position will:Provide culturally informed supervision to additional First Nations staff working in identified roles with headspace that are Wellbeing focused.Have a strong clinical focus and will work closely with the Clinical Practice Division to strengthen the relevance of headspace's clinical resources for First Nations young people.Tailor clinical approaches in a way which adds value to the care of First Nations young people, families, friends and communities.Develop First Nations specific tools, resources and training to support the effective delivery of the headspace model with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people for all headspace services.Be responsible for key stakeholder relationships with representative bodies in the Aboriginal community-controlled health sector and headspace centres, in supporting their clinical practitioners to develop and strengthen their cultural capability.The role forms part of the leadership team within the First Nations Wellbeing and Engagement division and will report directly to the Executive Director. The role will work collaboratively to provide leadership and guidance on the delivery of safe, holistic and appropriate care to First Nations young people.A skilled mental health practitioner, they will have a strong grasp of the key factors of social and emotional wellbeing for First Nations young people and communities, coupled with an understanding of how these factors inform the individual and collective healing journey and the provision of appropriate care.Who we're looking forIt is an essential operational requirement that this position is occupied by an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person.*headspace is seeking someone with:Approved tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology (clinical, counselling, 4+2 or 5+1 pathway), Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Counselling / Psychotherapy with eligibility for membership of the appropriate professional body:Psychologists, mental health nurses, and occupational therapists are required to be fully registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Social workers are required to be eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).Counsellors / Psychotherapists are required to be eligible for Level 3 membership, at a minimum, with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) / Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).Experience working in a primary health care and/or mental health setting.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the value of First Nations approaches to healing and wellbeing, and the ongoing impacts of colonisation underpinned by the recognition of First Nations concerted resistance and survival.Proven track record working with First Nations people and representatives.Leadership, planning, and program/project management skills at both strategic and operational levels.Experience in the development and delivery of training and resource packages/programs.Demonstrated capacity for generative collaboration to produce nuanced and appropriate outcomes.Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively and sensitively with a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.Ability to work effectively both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.Willingness and capacity to undertake interstate travel to head office and around the country.Effective budget preparation and financial management expertise.* Please note, headspace considers that being an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under s28 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic).What's on offerA workplace where people are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work.Excellent salary packaging up to the maximum amount ($15,900).Hybrid work environment where you can work from home and in the Melbourne/ Brisbane CBD office.First-rate CBD location with great on-site facilities.A focus on wellbeing.A commitment to diversity.How to applyClick on 'Apply Now' to view the position description, and to complete your application.Your application must include a resume and cover letter telling us why you are the best candidate for the role considering the Key Responsibilities found in the position description.To be eligible for this position you mustHave the right to live and work in Australia.Have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent, and/or pass all of the WWCC(s) required for this role.Satisfactorily undergo a headspace Police Check.headspace is committed to being a child safe and child friendly organisation that recognises, respects and promotes the rights of children, young and vulnerable people.
