Animation, VFX content, live events, themed activations, mobile apps, games, e-books, short form content, and immersive media, using real time game engines, motion capture and LED screens.
Senior Motion Capture Artist / Technician
Burleigh Heads onsite or hybrid/ remote - Australian based
International candidates considered & visa sponsorship/relocation offered.
Experience
5+ years experience as a Mocap technician
5+ years' experience Maya and Motion Builder.
Proficiency with motion capture data cleanup and implementation.
3+ years experience with Faceware or Dynamixyz, Vicon or Optitrack hardware/software.
3+ years experience with Unreal Engine.
3+ years of on-set experience in live performance industry (mocap preferred.)
Experience working with performers/models.
Experience working on at least one shipped AAA game title or movie.
Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to adjust priorities when necessary.
Familiar with other motion capture hardware/software.
Scripting knowledge, particularly Python for improving in-house motion capture pipelines.
Pleasant and professional nature.
Great communication skills.
Exceptional time and task management.
Other Preferable Skills
Understanding and familiarity of Broadcast Systems and Digital Transmission of video formats
Understanding of timecode, LTC, VITC standards as well as general networking (UDP communication, TCP, 'livelink', etc)
Day-to-day responsibilities and duties
Data Post Processing (tracking / solving/ retargeting.)
Support on-set mocap team with shoot prep, recording sessions, and post wrap.
Support junior tracking positions on the team with technical questions.
Suiting up actors for mocap acquisition session.
Operate inhouse Unreal Engine virtual production tools during shoots.
Monitor video reference and/or Helmet Mounted Camera (HMC) feeds.
Quality control on post processes.
Set up/create mocap skeletons used for solving/retargeting.
Review and provide feedback on project streamlining.
Foster positive working relationships, teamwork, and communication within the production teams.
