We are calling for a highly motivated, team-orientated person with exceptional interpersonal skills to join our vibrant care teams at our residential homes as a Mobility, Exercise & Engagement Officer.
As a MEES, you will be working under the supervision of our Physiotherapist and in collaboration with our lifestyle recreational team to deliver exercise, reablement and wellness programs for our residents.
As well as close interaction with the team you will regularly liaise with residents and their families.
We are offering this role as PPT - 24 hours per fortnight - flexible days, no weekend shifts.
This role is based in our 24 bed Lavington facility.
Key Responsibilities Undertake treatment goals and objectives under the guidance of an Allied Health Professional and/or Registered Nurse. Implement resident treatment plans with guidance from the Physiotherapist including one-on-one therapy, exercise classes, and group sessions. Apply therapeutic techniques (e.g.
heat, cold or massage therapies). Motivate residents to stay on track with their chosen goals. Focus on providing the highest quality treatment for residents that allows for excellent outcomes. Document resident treatments, changes in condition and accordingly defer to the physiotherapist or Registered Nurse should there be change to a residents' condition. Work closely in a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and communicating appropriately with team members to deliver best care. Skills, Knowledge and Experience Needed: Essential Certificate Cert III or Cert IV in Allied Health Assistance (specialising in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy) or equivalent such as Certificate III or IV in Fitness. Experience in physiotherapy assistance. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support safe and effective exercise within the aging population. A warm, friendly and empathic approach with a passion for Aged Care. Strong computer literacy and numeracy skills are essential. Computer literacy skills such as using mobile devices and web applications a must. Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including the ability to work within the scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Physiotherapist/Allied Health Professional. Up to Date COVID-19 Vaccination & Current Flu Vaccination required. NDIS Check. Commitment to quality, best practice and environmental safety. Ideally, you will be a 2nd - 4th year physiotherapy student or have completed the Certificate III or Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or are a recent graduate in disciplines such as Exercise Physiology, Sport Therapy/Rehabilitation.
