Company DescriptionCSA Mine is one of Australia's longest operating copper mines with a history stretching back almost 150 years.
At 1.9 kilometers deep, CSA is the second deepest copper mine in Australia and the third highest copper grade in the world.
Located near the NSW town of Cobar, CSA Mine employs around 550 people and produces approximately 40,000 tonnes of copper concentrate per year.
The ore is mined and processed on site and then transported by rail 700km to the Port of Newcastle for export.
CSA Mine was acquired by Metals Acquisition Limited in June 2023.
Job DescriptionCSA Mine is looking for a Mining Engineer to join the team.
You will work in a team that is focused on safety, while driving to meet the plan.
In this role you will be responsible for: Primarily working on operational improvements within the technical and operational departmentsPreparation of weekly and monthly development and production schedulesEffectively communicating the weekly plan to the mine foremanProducing stope notes and drill and blast designsEnsure work carried out meets current legislative requirementsUndertake stope reconciliations to establish an optimal design processConduct risk assessments as requiredQualifications About you: Current Australian Driver's Licence (minimum P2 or equivalent)Degree in Mining EngineeringMinimum 2 years experience in an underground metalliferous environmentExperience in mine planning software including DeswikHave completed your underground time required for a production managers certificate (desired)Experience in short term schedulingExperience in drill and blastExperience in mine ventilation and cemented mine backfill (desired)Additional Information Conditions This position is offered on a residential, drive in drive out (DIDO) or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Sydney or Brisbane.
If residential is the preferred commute option, relocation costs and a housing subsidy will be provided to the successful candidate to assist in relocating to Cobar.
Candidates interested in the DIDO or FIFO will be provided with commute single accommodation and meals at the mine camp.
