One of our leading clients is looking to hire a Lead Mechanical Engineer. As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will supervise a team of Mechanical personnel, estimate project staffing needs, and schedule and assign work. You will prepare discipline estimates and work plans and review and approve mechanical investigations and studies. Your leadership will drive high-quality work plans, successful implementation of mechanical components, team support and training, and project performance.
Major Responsibilities: Plans, develops, directs, and participates in the day-to-day mechanical engineering activity on medium to large-sized complex projects that require very major mechanical engineering effort, or may be assigned responsibility for multiple smaller projects within a global business unit utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs). Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of mechanical engineering personnel assigned, estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work accordingly. Provides the technical input to meet procurement requirements. Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly. Maintains contact with other disciplines to ensure the coordination of the work within the project(s) and compliance with Bechtel/client requirements. Education And Experience Requirements: Requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge And Skills: Experience in materials handling systems including crushing, screening, conveyors, transfers, and pump stations is essential. Experience in Iron Ore and hard rock systems is preferred. Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and computers in the discipline, and of engineering work planning and control methods. Knowledge of precedents in the discipline and of principles and practices of related disciplines. Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved. Broad knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards, and design and/or layout criteria pertinent to the particular discipline. Knowledge of application and coordination of 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools on a project. Skill in oral and written communication. #J-18808-Ljbffr
