Our Pilgangoora Project is one of the largest, hard-rock lithium operations in the world THE OPPORTUNITY: Reporting to the Senior Project Metallurgist, the Metallurgical Technician is responsible for taking ownership & working to execute the site metallurgical test work program.
Their role is to effectively assist the metallurgy team with their goals through the completion of test work & reporting, in turn, helping the metallurgists to ensure that concentrate production and associated processing unit operations are controlled in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
To achieve this, the Metallurgical Technician will place emphasis on managing their workload in consultation with the metallurgists, to ensure that both routine and ad hoc test work requirements are fulfilled.
This is a permanent position, with a 8/6 roster based at our Pilgangoora Operation.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: The Metallurgical Technician will build key relationships with relevant stakeholders.
Sample preparation (drying, splitting, pulverizing).
Wet & dry sizing.
Bench scale flotation test work.
Bench scale HLS test work.
Processing plant sample collection (routine & ad hoc surveys).
Instrumentation verification (pH probes).
Reagent strength measurement & tracking (soda ash, flocculant etc.).
Technical report writing & data entry (routine & ad hoc).
Metallurgical laboratory administration (stock management & housekeeping).
ABOUT YOU: Previous metallurgical laboratory work experience.
Show a high level of attention to detail, quality, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Hands-on & autonomous approach to work.
Ability to create effective working relationships in a diverse workforce.
Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite.
Current WA Driver's licence.
