About the Role

The New Verticals Team is accountable for piloting, launching and scaling Uber Eats’ new categories, including Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol, and others. As part of the team’s continued push into non-restaurant categories, Uber Eats is looking for an outstanding operations expert to work on high impact initiatives across a range of different topics.

This role will be responsible for defining and building key processes to enable growth and experience of merchants on the marketplace, for enabling merchants to sell new categories (e.g. alcohol, pharmaceuticals), for managing projects across a large set of stakeholders (Operations, Product, Sales, Legal, Policy), and for identifying the next opportunities to prioritise. To succeed in this role with end-to-end ownership, you will need excellent analytical skills, a strong problem solving ability and thrive in an ambiguous environment.

What You'll Do:
Operationalise improvements in range, compliance, platform investment, order efficiency and experience. This includes:
Working with product to roll out new initiatives to support the improvement you are targeting.
Quarterback a Sales & Account Management effort, from CRM design, talking points, tracking and ongoing analysis to drive the best outcome.
Set up processes and testing to drive long term sustainable improvements.
Drive strategy through understanding merchant needs and pain points, qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Own metrics and decisions against large scale continuous improvement activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. Product, Marketing, Sales, Restaurants team).

What You'll Need:
A proven track record:You’ll have 2+ years of operations experience in a dynamic environment, ideally with operational and analytical experience.
A demonstrated ability to look at problems creatively:Deliver exceptional results to the most complex problems, by identifying issues and being able to clearly identify impact.
Outstanding analytical and operational skills:You can develop meaningful insights from complex data. You have experience with data analysis, data manipulation, and data visualization tools. You are highly proficient in Excel/Sheets; experience with SQL, Tableau, Python is extremely valuable.
A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity:Launching a new business model isn’t easy, and there isn’t an existing plan for you to follow. You are able to manage and deliver end-to-end projects with autonomy.
A willingness to ‘get into the weeds’ and a continuous improvement mindset:You won’t get it right on day 1, or week 1, or month 1… However, by being in the detail and deeply understanding all aspects of the merchant experience, you’ll be best placed to advise and/or execute on improvement opportunities.
