Position Title: Mental Health Emergency Consultation and Support (MHECS) ClinicianEmployment Type: Permanent Full TimePosition Classification: Dependent upon qualifications and experienceRemuneration: $74,742.00 - $113,556.22 per annum (+ super + 17.5% leave loading where applicable)Hours per Week: 38Requisition ID: REQ530422Applications Close: 3 December 2024Vaccination Category: AAbout Your RoleThe Mental Health Emergency Consultation and Support (MHECS) Clinician is part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for coordinating and delivering emergency mental health consultations, assessments, and support services to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises in the MLHD. The MHECS Clinician collaborates with the on-call consultant psychiatrist to develop care plans and assist emergency department clinicians in managing mental health consumers' risks, medications, and ongoing care plans.The MHECS Clinician will also perform duties as a Police Ambulance Clinician Early Response (PACER) Clinician, conducting emergency assessments in community settings alongside police and ambulance services. This role requires in-person work in Wagga and virtual assessments across the district.The ideal candidate will possess extensive specialist knowledge in mental health, advanced reasoning skills, and the ability to operate autonomously with minimal supervision. They will be expected to exercise professional judgment in complex situations and demonstrate effective clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team.Minimum Requirements:Experience in mental health clinical practice.Ability to conduct emergency assessments and provide crisis intervention.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Capacity to work autonomously.Professional judgment and problem-solving abilities.Your application should include a resume and cover letter outlining your skills and experience relevant to this position.
