Mental Health Clinician (Adult community MH services) We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician to join one of our client's dynamic and supportive team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with serious mental illness through comprehensive assessments, treatment, and care coordination.
Your work will help foster recovery and improve overall mental health outcomes for those in need.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Assessment & Care Coordination: Conduct thorough assessments and collaborate with clients, families, and GPs to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Crisis Management: Provide acute interventions for clients in psychiatric crisis or at risk of self-harm, ensuring rapid response to high-risk situations.
Therapeutic Support: Lead individual and group therapy sessions and psycho-education for clients, carers, and families to promote recovery.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with GPs, mental health professionals, and community organizations to ensure seamless care delivery and positive outcomes for clients.
Service Development & Planning: Contribute to policy development and service improvements that align with current mental health best practices and community needs.
Community Engagement: Actively engage in mental health promotion through education and awareness initiatives in the community and with external agencies.
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications & Experience:
An approved degree and professional registration in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Occupational Therapy .
Proven experience providing clinical care to individuals with mental illness, including experience in crisis intervention and case management.
Knowledge and application of Recovery-based principles in mental health care.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience using Microsoft Office and client management systems.
A commitment to promoting mental health and wellbeing within the community.
Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and associated regulatory frameworks.
Postgraduate qualifications or Cert IV in Mental Health or Workplace Training & Assessment .
Additional certifications or training in Mental Health would be advantageous.
Specialist Expertise:
In-depth understanding of contemporary psychiatric issues and clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, counselling, and psychosocial rehabilitation.
Competence in managing dual diagnosis cases, with experience in creating integrated treatment and care plans.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams effectively.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team , collaborating on joint casework across services.
