About The Role: The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing the mechanical systems and components at Paddington Processing Plant associated work areas, in a safe and efficient manner. Maintenance Fitters will be required to complete routine PM's, Shutdown work as well as some shift coverage and call out work. All work is to be completed in line with company safety and quality standards while being compliant with all relevant statutory requirements and health and safety regulations.
The Mechanical Fitter works cohesively as a valuable member of the Maintenance Department. The role reports to the Mechanical Supervisor, and it is expected that the position will have an interactive role with all Plant Operations personnel & Stores.
Key Duties and Tasks: Diagnosis of faults and equipment breakdowns. Estimation of time and materials required to complete jobs and raising of orders. Carry out time and material estimations for planned tasks and enter associated parts orders. Undertaking repairs and component change outs, where required. Undertaking preventative maintenance inspections, equipment repairs, and associated component change outs in a safe, responsible, and timely manner. Regular inspections of tools and equipment, ensuring good working order. Regular inspections of tooling, equipment, work areas, and plant to identify hazards, operational compliance, damage, and defects. Provide training, supervision, and support to Apprentices, where required. Assist new employees and Contractors in the application of Company Policies and Procedures. Ensure all tasks meet quality standards and deadlines and are carried out safely. Any other duties as required. Minimum of 2 years mine site fixed plant mechanical experience Minimum of 3 years post apprentice mechanical work experience COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Mature team player with good communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively using the 2-way radio. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Able to speak, read, and write legibly. English at an Australian Secondary School standard. COMPUTER SKILLS:
