Mechanical Engineering Technician

The Midfield Group is privately owned and operates a true 'Paddock to Plate' experience as we own farms, factories, and distribution to ensure we retain control of the key elements of the process of getting livestock from paddock to plate.
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician who will play a pivotal role in assisting in mechanical equipment design, selecting tools and equipment, installing mechanical assemblies, performing tests, collecting, and analysing data, and ensuring compliance with specifications and regulations.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists.
Assisting Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the design of mechanical equipment and plant, selecting tools and equipment.
Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems.
Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements.
Performing and directing field and laboratory tests.
Collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams.
Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant.
Ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

Experience in mechanical design, testing, data collection, and analysis.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment.

Salary Range: AUD70,000 - AUD90,000
