Due to an increase in projects in our Water Utilities team, we're seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join us and contribute mechanical engineering expertise to critical water infrastructure projects.

About the role: As a Mechanical Engineer at WSP in Australia you'll play a pivotal role in shaping water and wastewater systems across Australia.
Supporting national programs of work in the Water Utilities space, your expertise will drive technical quality, enhance client satisfaction, and increase the capabilities of WSP's Water Utilities team.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Produce high quality Technical Documentation which presents complex, technical information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences;Manage the overall scope of multiple projects, of varying complexity and size;Demonstrate technical and commercial acumen with a focus on successful outcomes for our projects and our clients;Encourage collaboration by working closely with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to exceed expectations.About You: You have prior experience working as a Mechanical Engineer in the Water and Wastewater industry, with demonstrated experience working on water industry projects such as pump stations, pipelines, hydraulics, and/or treatment plants.
Your design background and proficiency in modelling software enables you to develop innovative mechanical solutions.
You enjoy engaging with clients, and you can write reports which are clear and logical.
As a Safety champion, you identify and resolve project safety risks through contemporary Safety in Design methods, ensuring legislative compliance.
You also display high levels of personal integrity, and a desire for continued professional development and improvement as an engineering professional.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Chartered member of Engineers Australia or working towards CPEng certification and RPEV.At least 5 years' experience working as a Mechanical Engineer.Proven experience in engineering consultancy or design roles (water industry experience is advantageous).Technical proficiency in water and wastewater conveyance and treatment.Experience in hydraulic design, pump stations, and equipment selection.Familiarity with digital design tools (Plant 3D or Inventor is preferred).Experience in CHAIR and HAZOP and related safety in design practices and processes.Effective communication skills for technical reports and client interactions.About WSP: WSP is one of the world's leading engineering professional services firms, bringing together approximately 6,000 talented people across 15 offices in Australia.
