OverviewWe are seeking a MECHANICAL ENGINEER with expertise in SOLID WORKS / AUTO CAD DESIGN for Electrical Switchboards.

Role ResponsibilitiesConvert concept Switchboard drawings to Solid-Works and Step files ready for fabrication.Design and develop Modular Switchboards.Develop and implement modern welding and integration techniques in the manufacturing of Cubicles to:Reduce weight of SCAReduce labour in welded joints by better designReduce type and quantity of hardware requiredImprove assembly techniquesIntegrate Electrical Equipment, Support System, and Busbars in the design.Produce CAD drawings from the Solidworks Model.Outsource Sheet Metal works to approved designs.Customize SCA to verification test requirements and adapt design to conform to standards.Manufacture support system and Bus Bars.Quality control documentation.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities3D CAD Design experience with Solidworks (minimum 5 years).Conversant with Strength of Materials ASNZS 60297.Conversant with requirements of ASNZS 60529 Ingress Protection.Conversant with ASNZS 61439, ASNZS 3000 and associated IEC standards for SCA.Sheet metal design experience (advantageous).Trade qualification or engineering background (desirable).Attention to detail.Good communication skills.The ability to work with minimal supervision.Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.Ability to interpret plans and standards.Accurate record keeping.Experience working with sheet metal, CNC machines, laser cutting machines, and turret punch machines is highly beneficial.The successful applicant will need to be a self-starter with excellent work ethics and a good level of physical fitness.
