Mechanical Engineer - 12-Month Contract

About the Role:
Based out of Newport Power Station, your primary role would be to provide basic engineering, asset management and low value, low risk project management support to the business. Aid Newport's short-term capabilities ensuring high start reliability & availability of plant. The role will also provide support to the Station to plan, execute and close out breakdowns and minor outages.
Your Role Requirements Will Include, but Not Limited To:

Support Newport's Asset Management capability.
Aid the development, delivery, and application of Asset Management principles at Newport to ensure a consistent and quality approach to the short term and long-term sustainable maintenance regime.
Liaise and collaborate with the Engineering team and other internal and external stakeholders concerning Asset Management and the uplift of Newport's capability.
Optimise resource usage, contain costs, maintain quality standards and mitigate risk, in the management of Newport operations.
Provide technical support to operations and maintenance personnel on fault finding, ensuring plant reliability and availability targets are met.
Ensure all Site Health & Safety, Environmental and Security policies, procedures, and obligations are effectively implemented and managed within the Newport Team.
Prepare and manage the minor Budgets, Forecasts, and Accruals for areas of responsibility.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (preferably mechanical) or related discipline.
Chartered Professional Engineer accreditation or NER credentials or immediate eligibility.
Business Licensing Authority (BLA) registration or immediate eligibility.
Basic knowledge and application of Asset Management and Lifecycle Maintenance Plans.
Basic Project Management principles and practices.
Ability to formulate, plan, execute, and deliver minor projects.
Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal.
Analytical problem solving and decision making.
