U-Go Mobility is looking for Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join our team in Kingsgrove & Menai. This is an exciting opportunity to join our company and continue to grow the U-Go Mobility brand while learning industry standard practices.
Purpose: To repair and maintain company vehicles to the standard required by the Company to achieve maximum vehicle availability across the four locations in Kingsgrove, Revesby, Menai, Taren Point, and Sydenham. To be responsible for working in a safe manner as stated in current legislation and company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks: Inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair all company vehicles including buses and vans.Undertake a thorough and detailed examination of the fleet in accordance with legal and company standards.Record all defects and corrective action in a clear and concise manner.Work effectively under minimal supervision.Communicate effectively with operational staff and other engineering colleagues.Carry out any reasonable instructions given by the Workshop Controller or any other supervisor.Be prepared to work the hours necessary to complete tasks required to achieve Peak Vehicle Requirement (PVR).Prepare vehicles for external campaign work such as repaints and interior trim replacements.Knowledge and Skills Requirements: Essential: Ability to operate safely in a workshop environment.Clean and valid MR license or willingness to obtain one.Desirable: Clean and valid C Class license.Ability to install and do minor repairs on Heavy Vehicles.Competencies, Desirable Traits or Attributes: Highly motivated.Ability to work autonomously.Decision maker.Good communicator.Clear and concise written skills.Ability to adapt within changing environment.Willingness to learn.Positive attitude to safety.Key Safety Responsibilities: To act in a manner as to ensure the health, safety, welfare, environment, and fire safety of yourself and others in the organization as well as any clients and visitors.
Ensure that you and any guests to any company premises understand emergency and evacuation arrangements.
Ensure your working environment is maintained in a safe and tidy condition. To act proactively in identifying any unsafe practices or safety risks in the organization and reporting these through the appropriate channels.
Ensure adherence to all relevant company and U-Go Mobility group company policies and procedures.
