The Role: Mayor & Councillors Executive Assistant We are looking for an experienced community minded Executive Assistant to join our Governance team!
This is a great opportunity for a committed and detail-orientated individual to apply existing knowledge, skills and experience in the high-level delivery of executive support to the Mayor and Councillors at City of Playford, as well as supporting the activities of the governance team.
The position is focused on supporting the Mayor and Councillors in responding to their queries and providing information in a timely and efficient manner to support them in their role to allow robust decision making which in turn delivers outcomes for our community.
The position will manage the Mayor's schedule, including scheduling of appointments, development of written correspondence, arrangement of conference and travel requirements for council members, minute taking for council and/or committee meetings and supporting the organisation in undertaking governance activities in accordance with legislative requirements.
What you'll be doing Provide a high level of executive support to the Mayor and Councillors Seek out and participate in the continuous improvement of role delivery, and the implementation and maintenance of work instructions, policy and procedures.
Deliver out of hours work to provide governance support to Council and Committee meetings (which may include minute taking).
Participate and engage effectively as a member of the Governance team, maintaining a positive contribution to organisational culture, and exercising sound judgement, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity at all times.
Effective and timely records management of all Council communication and correspondence to meet legislative requirements What you'll bring to our team You will hold a Certificate IV in Business or Local Government administration, or equivalent experience within a tier of government, government agency or department or non-government organisation.
In addition you will: Take pride in delivering an executive service that supports your organisation to deliver successful outcomes Have a passion for excellent customer service and have great ability to build and maintain relationships across an organisation, whilst utilising your highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Deliver timely high quality work outputs and have excellent attention to detail.
Demonstrate high level organisational skills and initiative including experience in work planning and prioritising to meet deadlines.
