OzHarvest is a leading food rescue organisation on a mission to 'Nourish our Country' by stopping good food from going to waste and delivering it to charities that help feed people in need. Through our education programs and our advocacy work, we hope to inspire others to change their behaviour and help reach the national target of halving food waste by 2030.
About the role:
Join OzHarvest as a Market Supervisor and lead efforts to provide nutritious food to vulnerable communities in Adelaide. This role is essential in managing our market operations and fostering a supportive volunteer environment. This role will be 18 hours per week spread across Tuesday, Wednesday (afterhours) and Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily market operations, including food distribution and inventory management. Supervise and motivate a team of 10-15 volunteers, providing guidance and support. Collaborate with the Market & Community Manager to handle guest needs and challenging situations. Contribute to the strategic direction and development of market services. To be successful for this role, you will need:
Strong understanding of OzHarvest's mission. Proven experience in managing relationships with stakeholders and volunteers. Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills. Leadership experience with diverse teams. Energetic, positive, and proactive attitude. Empathetic and culturally sensitive approach. Strong communication skills and resilience in fast-paced settings.
