As a Market Manager in our Travel team, you’ll play a key role in sourcing compelling getaways including hotels, flights and unique travel experiences for our global travel platform across ANZ and the wider APAC region.
This role offers an opportunity to make an immediate impact selling the Groupon Travel platform, a powerful way for hotels and resorts to market their properties. You’ll focus on hunting new business while growing the existing portfolio of accounts, giving you the opportunity to penetrate new markets and dive deeper into existing markets.
A bit about the role
Build and maintain long term relationships with a portfolio of hotel partners to maximise repeat feature business and expand our subscriber base and depth of inventory
Proactively call & meet with potential clients, leverage off verified research leads and proactively utilise your existing networks
Secure and negotiate competitive rates and inventory to meet targets and metrics including peak periods
Identify emerging trends and apply this knowledge to leverage sales
Develop familiarity with hotel partner’s business, including but not limited to: products and/or services, consumer demographics, consumer ratings, points of competitive differentiation, economic model, and revenue and profit drivers as it relates to driving occupancy
Be held to revenue goals and seek to identify new and creative travel packages
A bit about you
Experience in Hotelier sales, revenue management or online travel in the Australian market (APAC market knowledge highly desirable)
Motivated by the thrill of the chase creating new business relationships in a high volume, target driven environment
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of travel industry and emerging trends
Exceptionally strong negotiation and consultation skills
Have the ability to think on your feet and adapt to guaranteed daily changes
Strong relationship building background, ability to instantly build rapport
