Job description : The Position
The Position Reporting to the Head of Market Access & Healthcare Affairs, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Market Access Specialist to come and join our high performing team!
Your role as a Market Access Specialist is to support the Head of Market Access and Healthcare Affairs as well as Market Access Managers with submissions for Australian and New Zealand payers for new and existing Boehringer Ingelheim medicines.
These payer customers are primarily Australian and New Zealand government reimbursement agencies but will also include hospitals for certain products.
An important part of this role is you will also be providing support to the Head of Market Access and Healthcare Affairs as well as Market Access Managers with provision of advice to corporate stakeholders in the design of health outcome studies or economic models to support access to Boehringer Ingelheim's new medicines.
Provide advice as needed to internal stakeholders on reimbursement matters, and to provide training to our Strategic Account Managers as directed.
Tasks & Responsibilities Support Market Access Managers in the development, preparation and management of relevant and high-quality reimbursement and pricing submissions, including systematic review searches and write-ups.Follow established process for submission preparation and assist in the involvement of key internal and external stakeholders.Provide pharmacoeconomic advice including insights to help shape strategy for our future medicines, to internal customers including marketing, medical, pipeline, corporate affairs, specialty sales, clinical, and medical information.Keep pharmacoeconomic knowledge (including PBAC guidelines, PHARMAC, MSAC, hospital payers) up to date.Maintain in-depth knowledge of pricing and reimbursement decisions made by PBAC including maintaining our files of PBAC decisions (outcomes, public summary documents).Participate where required in cross-functional asset teams.Assist Head of Market Access and Healthcare Affairs with the development of policy positions in support of advocacy e.g. Medicines Australia.Assist with maintenance of Market Access files including team emails.Provide training to Strategic Account Managers to support formulary access.Requirements Master's degree or equivalent in any of the areas of pharmacy, epidemiology, health economics or economics, public health, biostatistics.Around a 1 year of market access experience writing certain sections of submissions to bodies like the PBAC, and / or MSAC.Well developed understanding of clinical data to a level required for a PBAC and / or MSAC submission.Well developed understanding of the Microsoft 365 Suite, advanced word and excel skills.A focus on results, well developed interpersonal, time-management, high levels of written & oral communication skills, willing to learn to develop skills.An ability to work in a team-based environment is crucial.What we offer Boehringer Ingelheim offers a competitive remuneration, attractive bonus scheme, health insurance, employee assistance program, development programs and career development opportunities.
