The Opportunity
Cape Preston Port Company (CPPC) is seeking experienced Marine Designated Person Ashore to join our Port Operations team.
This position is a permanent fulltime role based in our Perth head office on St Georges Terrace.
Reporting to the Manager – Technical Shipping, the initial 18 months will be heavily focused on document review of the safety management system.
Following this, the role is responsible for:
Oversight of the compliance, review and implementation of the Company's Safety Management Systems and ensure compliance with Australian and International Regulatory Codes and rules.
Undertaking of Designated Person Ashore Role for the Companies ISM / DOC Systems.
Undertaking of the Company's Security Officer Role for the Marine Fleet.
The successful applicant will have:
Master Class 1 certificate or Engineer Class 1 certificate.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in the marine industry with sea going experience.
Minimum of 5 years' as in a senior shore-based role, ideally with a safety management or compliance bias.
Designated Person Ashore Qualification.
Ship Security Officer Qualification.
A current WA C Class (manual) Drivers Licence.
Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
