Selection CriteriaSC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. Demonstrated experience in responding to student learning needs.

RoleMARC services enable small rural and regional Victorian government schools to provide students with access to a broader range of texts and educational resources. MARC is a mobile library service that provides literacy-based programs. MARC teachers are employed by the base school (Leitchville Primary School) and work collaboratively with serviced schools (4 other small schools) to increase access to a broader range of books and other educational resources, to improve engagement in relevant curriculum areas and improve learning outcomes.
The MARC teacher typically works one day at each school and reports to the base school for support.
ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities of MARC teachers include:
Development and delivery of relevant Victorian Curriculum F-10 (2.0) aligned programs with a focus on student learning outcomes and contribution to student reporting.Purchase and stocktake of resources and materials.Vehicle management and logbook keeping.Participation and contribution to planning and annual reporting as a key member of the committee of management.Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school.Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

VIT LANTITETo be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class a person must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching. In addition, from 3 August 2020, to be eligible for employment in the principal class or teacher class, a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements.
Location ProfileLeitchville Primary School is the services base school and there are a further 4 schools in the locality: Murrabit, Koondrook, Gunbower and Nanneella in which MARC services.
