The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the manufacturing processes and ensuring the successful delivery of submarine projects. Embedded within the Project Engineering Capability Department, this role focuses on integrating advanced manufacturing techniques and ensuring compliance with defence standards and regulations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, quality assurance, and supply chain, to drive innovation and efficiency in submarine production.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage manufacturing projects from conception through to completion, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within budget.Coordinate with project engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to align manufacturing processes with project requirements.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with defence industry standards and regulations.Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians.Manage resources effectively, including manpower, materials, and equipment.Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including project updates, risk management, and performance reporting.About youBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the defense or maritime industry.Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and defense industry standards.Proven experience in project management and process improvement.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary teamEligibilityThis role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level.
