This is an excellent opportunity to join Vinnies Victoria in an exciting time! The People Support and Operations (PS&O) team is one of three newly created Human Resources Shared Services teams delivering a full suite of Human Resources Management activities to the St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria Group.
The PS&O Team forms part of the Human Resources Division which encompasses Learning and Development, People Support and Operations, HR Business Partnering & Workplace Relations and Safety.
The PS&O team’s purpose is to provide a full suite of systems and processes to support all HR functions, focused on end to end process delivery, using standardised systems and processes to deliver low cost, efficient and effective services to all St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria Group businesses.
Our team is passionate, collaborative and, above all, motivated by the good works of the Society. We have a wealth of knowledge to share via existing team members and have the privilege of welcoming some new comers into the team also. You will be joining a strong and supportive team who are excited about what the future will bring.
The People Support and Operations Manager will lead the development of HR frameworks, tools, policies, systems and processes to ensure effective HR practices are completed in an efficient, effective, customer focused and legally compliant manner. Integral to the success of the team will be:
Customer service delivery is designed to ensure that employees, volunteers and members have an exceptional customer experience
Strong focus on continuous improvement using Lean and agile methodologies
Successful implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to create a positive impact on the outcomes
Building strong relationships with key stakeholders
Enhancing the Society's reputation as an employer of choice ensuring exceptional candidate care
About you
Possessing Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field, you are an outcomes focused and experienced HR Recruitment Leader who is passionate about establishing links between the work undertaken and impact to the community to foster a connected purpose driven culture.
This role has a significant focus on delivering continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and agile methodologies, so demonstrated experience in a similar capacity will be key.
You are known for your ability to easily build trust and rapport with others through your collaborative and consultative style and are skilled at co creating goals and establishing a clear vision of successful outcomes to generate high engagement and buy in. You have a high degree of empathy and enjoy sharing responsibility in the successful delivery of team goals.
You actively explore opportunities for continuous improvement and have often sought input and feedback from others which has led to the successful implementation of new or changed systems / procedures. In a previous role you have sought to create space for learning and innovation for your team and recognise the value their contribution makes to not only positive outcomes but also their growth and skill development.
You will be a strong systems thinker who may have lead HR Management System implementations or similar.

Overall, the group of companies of St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria has many arms and services. These include soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria, which provides a range of services and programs for people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and disadvantage. This includes crisis accommodation, drug and alcohol dependency programs, and housing.
