Government - State (Government & Defence) Prepare high level strategic analysis, advice and options on strategic policy issues to assist the Director and Executive Director to advise the Minister, Director-General and Deputy Director-General.Lead strategic policy projects, including the development of Cabinet submissions, Cabinet Budget Review Committee submissions and whole of government submissions, to enable government to deliver its priorities relating to human services, including the disability services portfolio.Research and advise on contemporary policy and legislative frameworks, based on evidence and best practice locally, nationally and internationally.Develop and maintain productive partnerships with a range of stakeholders (including across the department, Queensland Government agencies, Commonwealth and state and territory governments, and the non-government sector) to ensure successful negotiation on strategic policy matters.Represent the unit and department on committees and working groups.Manage a small policy team to meet all elements of its work program on time and within budget while building the capacity of team members.Contribute to the management of the department's Cabinet and Parliamentary work program, consistent with government commitments and directions set by the Minister and Director-General, meeting all deadlines and performance requirements.Support the Director and Executive Director to represent the department in whole of government and intergovernmental forums and negotiations.Promote an accountable, fair, and safe work environment through the implementation of effective management practices and policies, including performance management, equal employment opportunity/anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/591939/24Closing Date: Tuesday, 01 October 2024Report this job advert Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
