Youth JusticeRegional Operations; Workforce and Practice Reform; Service Delivery – Youth Justice; BrisbaneThe Manager, Youth Justice Disability team will work across the department and with external parties to develop and implement current practices in relation to disability in Youth Justice.The Youth Justice Disability Team provides internal and external advice and support in relation to:program design and project management implementation support for new initiatives related to disability impacting on Youth Justice Servicespractice support for practitioners and services working with young people in the youth justice system with disabilitiespractice advice and support relating to interventions with complex statutory clients including those who are in contact with the mental health court, those who have committed violent or sexual offenses, and young people with connections to the justice system who are experiencing vulnerabilities such as housing issues, the impacts of trauma, neglect, poverty, and disability.As the Manager, you will:Coordinate the provision of authoritative, professional and timely advice to the Director and key stakeholders on issues pertaining to disability responses for young people in youth justice including community organizations and individuals.Lead effective stakeholder engagement on behalf of the Director with a wide range of organizations, agencies, stakeholders, and offices.Coordinate submissions, documentation, proposals, and initiatives and contribute a strategic perspective to responses.Manage projects of a complex, sensitive, and contentious nature as assigned by the Director including leading the implementation of new youth justice disability responses and services.Coordinate and/or conduct research into youth justice service center and youth detention center matters and other practices relating to young people with disabilities within the community affecting the policy and operations of the department, including the analysis of findings and recommendations of appropriate courses of action.Manage the team including work planning and financial and human resource responsibilities.Active participation in and contribution to the governance and strategic objectives of Youth Justice and the department.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.Please ensure you download all attachments and follow the instructions on how to apply.DocumentsBefore applying for this vacancy please ensure you read the documents below.592297-24-Role Profile (Word, 542KB)
