About the Role The Manager Enterprise Asset Management is a position that sits in the Asset Intelligence Branch of the Assets and Engineering Division. The role supports the establishment and then leads and is responsible at a detail level for the ongoing implementation, application management, governance, assurance functions, user acceptance and continuous improvement of the Department's Transport Enterprise Asset Management System (Maximo/ArcGIS) across the entire asset base lifecycle to effectively support the wider Department of Transport and Planning's management of the State's Transport network.
The role is critical and responsible in enabling both the effective management of the Enterprise Asset Management System applications from a business or functional perspective and assisting data custodians to ensure the ongoing quality and integrity of asset information maintained within the Enterprise Asset Management System Applications. The role is further required to promote and facilitate the supply of large data-sets, as required, to the wider Department and State.
The role includes the key function of ensuring that the integrity of the ongoing integration between the Enterprise Asset Management System and the Spatial Asset data within the Department's Transport Spatial platforms is maintained. The Manager Enterprise Asset Management is a Team Leader role that will require an active hands-on approach to develop and lead the team to achieve the position outcomes.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities Enterprise Asset Management Business Applications Manager: Leads a team that routinely and efficiently supports the implementation initiatives that promote user acceptance of the Enterprise Asset Management System and associated asset data. The core functions typically provided include defining application requirements and priorities, providing user training, performing User Acceptance Testing and Business Verification Testing, and undertaking triage and problem resolution related to application functionality and data issues raised by end-users.Enterprise Asset Management Data Steward: Works closely with the Data Steward that routinely and efficiently executes the day-to-day data governance activities relating to data in the Department's Enterprise Asset Management System. These activities include providing data definitions, defining data profiling and candidate data quality rules, and general data management activities.Effective Team Leadership: The Manager Enterprise Asset Management Business Applications has provided effective and collaborative leadership and people management and actively supports their team to deliver on the services required in the complex environment of Enterprise Asset Information Management. Team staff are well informed and engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment.Asset Information Requirements: The incumbent has supported the implementation of the Department's Asset Information Requirements in the Enterprise Asset Management Business Applications. This includes providing expert advice on how the requirements can best be met within the system.Transport Domain Advice: The incumbent has provided expert asset management system advice on what solutions will meet the business requirements within the transport sector – in particular light and heavy rail, and road transportation.Stakeholder Engagement: The Manager Enterprise Asset Management Business Applications and the team have efficiently and effectively engaged with the various providers of Asset Information to ensure enterprise asset information application requirements match the asset information proposed to be provided.Asset Information Quality: The incumbent has supported the development, then implemented and maintained effective procedures to ensure asset data and information is received or uploaded either from the Asset Data Acquisition Function or other third parties, including via API, and works with the Data Stewards to ensure that configuration and data loads comply with the endorsed Department of Transport and Planning Standard applicable to the particular asset information category.Qualifications and Experience Mandatory
Recognised formal qualifications in relevant Engineering or Data and/or Information & Knowledge Management, appropriate to the field of enterprise asset information management.
Extensive industry experience in current asset data and/or enterprise asset information & knowledge management systems, including implementing and maintaining compliance with best practice data governance requirements under a quality framework within the transport and/or utility industries.
Significant demonstrable experience (five or more years) effectively leading a team responsible for managing the business application support functions for an Enterprise Asset Management System.
Demonstrated asset information management experience, including at a hands-on level, with large complex datasets and documentation sets for multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience working in an IBM Maximo application management role, including stakeholder relationships, problem triage, solutioning, liaison and problem solving with IT and Vendors with respect to functionality and data issues.
Demonstrated experience in managing geospatial data and associated documentation.
