What you'll be doing
The Manager - Culture and Capability leads the effective development and implementation of strategies, programs, initiatives, and systems which build workforce capability and supports employee engagement, in order to achieve SESLHD strategic priorities.
The position develops and leads the SESLHD strategies for organisational culture, employee engagement, experience and recognition, leadership development, capability development, talent management, succession planning, and diversity, inclusion and belonging.
This position also leads and has operational oversight of the Culture and Capability team.
This position supports the Head of Human Resources, Culture and Capability and collaborates regularly with the Manager Human Resources Business Partnering, and the Manager Employee and Industrial Relations to achieve the People and Culture objectives and goals.
Where you'll be working
South Eastern Sydney Local Health District is one of the largest local health districts in Sydney, covering a geographical area of 468 square kilometres from Sydney's central business district, the beaches from Bondi to Cronulla and down to the Royal National Park.
We proudly deliver health care to around 930,000 residents across the local government areas of Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick, Bayside, Georges River and the Sutherland Shire.
We also provide a key role in helping residents of Lord Howe Island.
We manage nine integral and high-capacity hospitals, including Prince of Wales Hospital, Royal Hospital for Women, Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital, St George Hospital, Calvary Health Care, Sutherland Hospital, and Gower Wilson Memorial Hospital on Lord Howe Island.
The role can be based at any of our district locations, including Sutherland, Randwick, or Kogarah by negotiation, and will require District wide travel.

Selection Criteria:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Organisational Psychology, or Human Resources Management and/or extensive equivalent experience in a similar leadership role, or a combination of experience and study.
Demonstrated success in effectively leading a Human Resources or Organisational Development team to design and deliver organisational outcomes within a complex environment.
Demonstrated experience developing teams, coaching and advising senior managers and fostering a person-centred constructive culture.
Strong influencing and relationship management skills with experience of working effectively with senior stakeholders including Executive teams.
Highly developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to work in a high-pressure environment with periods of heavy workload, and multi-task to achieve business goals and expectations.
Superior analytical skills, including the ability to analyse data, prepare and present analysis, and draft complex correspondence suitable for an executive audience.
Demonstrated capability in applying systemic approaches to organisational opportunities or challenges, including leading multiple and concurrent projects and teams, driving improvement initiatives, and implementing change.
Sound knowledge and understanding of NSW public healthcare system, workforce challenges, relevant policy and legislation frameworks, and SESLHD strategic priorities.
