About the Manager Compliance role:
This role is dynamic and challenging, and it is an exciting time to be in the energy sector.
As part of the Regulation team, you will work in a high performing section of our business responsible for managing the business's economic compliance and policy positions.
This Manager Compliance role is pivotal in developing and executing our regulatory and compliance strategies, and will liaise with a range of stakeholders, including the Australian Energy Regulator, Essential Services Commission, and Australian Energy Market Operator, to promote our business's regulatory interests.
With a key focus on stakeholder management, you'll be integral in fostering relationships with customer representatives, industry groups, and internal stakeholders, guiding them through complex regulatory landscapes and ensuring compliance.

What you'll deliver: Build and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with key regulatory bodies to champion our regulatory interests.Engage with customer representative groups, industry stakeholders, and internal teams, promoting our positions and aligning their understanding of complex regulatory requirements.Provide strategic insights and advice on economic regulatory matters, identifying regulatory risks and opportunities that align with our business objectives.Develop and communicate clear regulatory positions on updates to guidelines, rules, and codes, keeping all stakeholders informed.Partner with subject matter experts, senior management, and executive teams to ensure informed, compliant, and proactive regulatory decision-making.Drive our economic compliance program across all areas of the business, ensuring we meet regulatory standards.Oversee and lead regulatory reporting to the Australian Energy Regulator and Essential Services Commission, ensuring all regulatory information notices and orders are submitted timely and accurately.Provide guidance, support, and developmental opportunities, fostering team growth and continuous improvements.To succeed in the role you'll have: Tertiary qualification in economics, social science, accounting, engineering or a related disciplineStrong understanding of economic principles, regulatory frameworks, and public policyComprehensive knowledge of compliance frameworks, with the ability to communicate regulatory positions effectivelyExceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate regulatory complexitiesExtensive experience in a heavily regulated environment, ideally in a utility or similarly regulated sector, working within or alongside regulatory bodies, government agencies, or other regulated businessesDemonstrated experience in managing compliance programs, with the capability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentAbility to prepare and present reports to senior management and compliance committees, balancing technical detail with strategic insights.Your career with us:
