We're looking for a relationship and compliance focused leader to manage our Business Customer Accounts team. If you're someone who thrives on building strong, lasting relationships, fostering trust, and driving collaborative success, we want you on our team.About the RoleAs the Manager of Business Customer Accounts, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for the operational relationships with Sydney Water's Business Customers, providing guidance and expertise on products and services required to ensure business customers can have continuous and safe water/wastewater services. In conjunction, the team leads the protection of Sydney Water by ensuring the activities of Business Customers pose no risk to our Networks. With four direct reports, you'll play a pivotal role in balancing business customer needs with compliance requirements, protecting both our network and our customers' interests. This role is ideal for someone with experience in managing complex customer and stakeholder relationships, particularly in a regulated environment. You will guide a team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring adherence to compliance and risk management standards.ResponsibilitiesManage high-value, high-risk relationships: take ownership of one-to-one relationships with key business customers, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction while mitigating risks to our network.Drive customer advocacy: deliver a best-in-class service model for business customers by optimising people, processes, technology, and costs.Provide expert guidance: advise internal and external stakeholders on business customer processes, policies, and systems, ensuring all parties are aligned on expectations and compliance.Identify new market offerings: collaborate with the business development group to identify opportunities for new products and services that meet the evolving needs of business customers.Case management: lead the resolution of complex commercial customer issues to achieve positive outcomes for both the customer and Sydney Water.Manage risk: develop and oversee complex agreements with medium and high-risk customers, ensuring adherence to discharge controls and safeguarding Sydney Water's assets.About YouAs a senior leader in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in managing complex customer relationships, ideally within a regulated environment. You should be adept at influencing senior management and stakeholders on strategic issues while leading by example. Your ability to inspire, motivate, and develop your team will be key to success in this role. You will also bring strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills, enabling you to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and beyond.Experience and QualificationsA tertiary qualification in business, management, finance or equivalent practical experience.Highly developed communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships at all levels of the organisation and with external partners.Experience in stakeholder management, especially in complex, high-stake environments.Knowledge of compliance, risk management, and industry regulations is highly desirable.Why Sydney Water?Joining Sydney Water means being part of an organisation that is committed to providing a vital service to millions of people.
