The Role This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join the senior management team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the accounting and finance function, including supervising a bookkeeper. You will also provide crucial financial insights that support the business's growth and profitability while ensuring operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities Lead the finance team, overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including supervision of a bookkeeper. Prepare and present monthly financial reports to the CEO and senior management, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to ensure alignment with business objectives. Provide strategic insights to improve profitability, optimize costs, and assess investment opportunities. Collaborate with department heads (operations, sales, and marketing) to assess financial impact and guide business decisions. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls. Continuously improve financial systems and processes to support business growth. Oversee financial statements, tax filings, and regulatory compliance. To be successful, you'll need: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in management accounting, including leadership roles. Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis skills in a small business setting. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to present financial insights to senior leaders and support business decision-making.
