With multiple roles available due to growth, there are several potential entry points, and a role can be tailored to your areas of interest, whether it be in Project Accounting, Internal Budgets, Finance Business Partnering, or Revenue and Costings.
Key responsibilities in these roles include:
Working closely with business stakeholders to gather financial data and guide/report on budget positions.
Reviewing capital and project works, including sense checking the numbers, understanding assumptions, and performing due diligence activity
Developing and maintaining supporting worksheets and notes for internal budgets and costings
Engaging with relevant stakeholders to enable informed financial decision making and maintain compliance with frameworks and standards
Distinguishing and allocating capital and operational expenses
Providing strategic financial advice into divisional areas (e.g. ICT).
These roles require strong analysing skills and the ability to problem-solve and seek out answers to complex issues. You are a person who can learn fast and contribute quickly. Relevant qualifications are required (i.e. CA/CPA) and large, complex business or financial consulting experience will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
Previous experience in a similar management accounting role
High attention to detail in your numbers and for documenting assumptions
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interrogate data
A level of familiarity with SAP or similar FMIS
A high level of organisation with the ability to manage tight deadlines and competing priorities
Highly developed interpersonal engagement skills
A willingness to get into the detail and produce high-quality work

Salary c., $80 – 95k + 15.4% super or equivalent hourly rate for contract
You must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain a Baseline AGSVA security clearance. Permanent transfer considered for existing APS employees, contract with a view to permanence for those coming from private sector or consulting.
