The Weir Group are seeking a site-based Maintenance Mechanical Fitter to support the Iron Bridge Magnetite Project, based in our new service centre facility in Port Hedland, Western Australia!The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the refurbishment of our unique Weir High Pressure Grinding Roller (HPGR) This is an exciting opportunity to learn a new skillset and be a part of an international first in the industry. This is a local position; we encourage residential applications to apply. We believe in fairness and choose to be honest, transparent and authentic in everything we do.  Key Responsibilities:  Work with the qualified HPGR technicians to establish and implement a sustainable growth of the allocated HPGR business unit. Manage all site installation, repair maintenance and testing as per scopes of work Become a committed team member to looking at continuous improvement in our daily activities Exhibit a collaborative approach to ensure that customer needs are prioritised and satisfied to meet set service levels. Contribute to strategic planning of site service and installations. Provide technical advice to the Site Service Supervisor for service and components for contracts. Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skillsShow flexibility under urgent or breakdown conditions in order to service customer requirements Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:  Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Fitting Advantageous to have experience working with HPGR's or similar to equipmentDogging and Rigging Tickets with relevant industry experience Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsBe flexible for a combination of workshop and field workBe available to travel internationally for product trainingFounded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
