Maintenance & Handypersons - Environmental Specialist

About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) Specialist to join our team at the Mole Creek lime processing plant and quarry in Tasmania, Australia.
The successful candidate will work closely with site leadership, regional managers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements, as well as Graymont's own health, safety, and environmental standards.
The HSEQ Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our Quality Management System to ISO 9001, as well as overseeing environmental sampling, reporting, and compliance with regulatory and environmental license conditions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in WHS and environmental management, with experience in implementing and auditing quality management systems. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with Graymont's health, safety, and environmental standards.Investigate incidents and accidents, and develop recommendations for prevention and recurrence.Provide training and guidance to employees on health, safety, and environmental procedures and protocols.Develop and coordinate site rehabilitation activities, and ensure compliance with environmental license conditions.Report and investigate customer complaints, and conduct internal quality system audits.About Graymont Graymont is a global leader in lime and limestone solutions, providing innovative products and services to a wide range of industries.
