Details of the offer

The principal purpose of the role is to undertake preventative maintenance and resolve operational/technical issues with a focus on safety first and production efficiency.
Commitment to Zero Harm safety philosophy.
Preventative maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and manuals with a focus on maintaining safety and maximizing production.
Resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimize manufacturing interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/failures.
Demonstrate commitment to teamwork
Key Selection Criteria:
Training and Education:
Completed apprenticeship in a metal trade and has attained the requirements to qualify as a Level C9 Tradesman as defined in The Metal Trades General Award Engineering Cert III Mechanical.
Training in OHS, front line leadership, train the trainer, quality and/or HACCP
Experience:
Knowledge and experience in safety procedures
Compliance to of OHS, quality systems and GMP standards
3 - 5 years maintenance experience in a food processing industry plant is desirable but not essential
Installation, operation, service, fault finding, repair and maintenance of plant equipment such as belt & roller conveyor transport systems, retorts, compressors, steam pressure systems & pumps, water and chemical dosing pumps, glass filling systems, heat exchangers, gearmotors and associated plant services
Good judgment in appraising difficult situations and making appropriate decisions pertaining to equipment condition and appropriate corrective action
Working as a team member across 24 x5 operations
Computer Maintenance Management Systems
Skills:
Uncompromising safety and quality focus - instigates proactive measures to minimize risks within the workplace
Ability to develop Hazard Analysis and risk assessments on assigned jobs
“Can Do” attitude with strong problem-solving skills, this includes the ability to think outside of the box and challenge the status quo.
Ability to juggle several conflicting priorities at the same time, without losing focus on the detail
Leads by example
Communicates effectively with production team – provides clear information/instructions & listens effectively
Ability to work autonomously, highly motivated and results driven
Maintains a calm and professional demeanor when under pressure to deliver and/or meet deadlines
