Legal Counsel - Insurance Financial Services Lawyer Skip to content Legal Counsel - Corporate/Commercial Lawyer Paramatta, new offices Hybrid, Flexible work arrangements, 2 days per week in the office Broad and varied, in-house legal counsel position Open to someone from a litigation background wanting to move to a front-end commercial role Growth role due to internal movements and promotions within the team Purpose: This role will report to the General Counsel and Company Secretary of a leading Australian private health fund.
Working closely with the general counsel, you will assist in providing a broad range of legal advice to the business covering commercial contracts, corporate and ensuring organisational legislative requirements are met. Key Areas Responsibility: Manage the day-to-day delivery of legal services and provide support to major projects across the business such as strategic growth opportunities and regulatory change projects Provide advice on legal matters and advise on changes in law and regulatory requirements which have an impact on the business Drafting, reviewing and assisting the business with the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements Reviewing correspondence, marketing material or other collateral from a legal perspective Formulation of pro-forma templates for the needs of the business Maintenance of relevant legal and contract management policies Oversee an effective contract management framework Identification of key legal risks to ensure the organisation minimises/mitigates its exposure to legal liabilities and claims Advising on customer complaints and assisting with issues raised by regulators Project management and other related tasks necessary to help the organisation meet its legal/regulatory obligations Advise on employment law related issue Key competencies: 4-8 years post qualification experience as commercial/corporate lawyer, financial services lawyer, or commercial litigation lawyer in private practice or an in-house environment Proven ability to understand and interpret legislation in particular exposure to competition and consumer law, Privacy Act, IP, WHS and Corporations law Exposure to financial services or banking & finance is desirable Strong legal drafting and research skill Greenfields is a specialist In-House Legal, Company Secretary and Corporate Governance Executive Search & Recruitment firm.
