In this role, you will provide support to three Partners and the lawyers within the team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
General file maintenance including regular filing, opening and closing files;Telephone handling including answering incoming calls promptly, taking detailed messages and making outgoing calls as required;Drafting and preparation of emails, letters and documents;Liaising with other staff, Partners and in particular Corporate Services areas such as Document Support, Accounts, Mailroom, Reception, Catering, etc., and arranging support where required;Basic research - internet and library;Assisting the Business Development team with tender submissions and client information;Preparation of presentations (internal and external);Email and diary management;Preparation of bills and coordinating client specific billing requirements;General legal assistant overflow management and support;Maintain Partners/lawyers' contacts in our firm CRM InterAction, including assisting with list management on their behalf for events and communications;Other ad-hoc administration duties as required.About you You will ideally have the following skills and experience:
Minimum two years' experience as a Legal Assistant;Experience in a commercial law firm would be desirable;Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel and PowerPoint;Great interpersonal and communication skills;Reliable, punctual, flexible and able to demonstrate initiative when providing support to fee earners;Experience in using legal billing system and client management program (e.g. Aderant would be desirable but not required);Experience in using document management system (e.g. iManage 10 would be desirable but not required).About us Hall & Wilcox is a leading independent Australian law firm.
