The role
The study of humanities and social sciences is the heart and soul of Deakin University. Indonesian is one of four languages offered in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences - along with Arabic, Chinese and Spanish.
The Senior Lecturer / Lecturer will be required to teach, undertake research and publish in the area of Indonesian and contribute to the School's teaching, research and program development.
This is a full time on-going role based at Melbourne Burwood Campus.
To be successful, you'll have:
a PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design
nationally recognised reputation in research and scholarship through publications in quality journals and/ or exhibitions and/or success in obtaining external research grants
demonstrated expertise in Indonesian politics, international relations and/or society
relevant experience in teaching Indonesian language and knowledge of key approaches to language acquisition
demonstrated knowledge of language teaching methodology
excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues
relevant experience in online learning and teaching

Your key responsibilities will be to:
contribute to the School's teaching and research programs
exhibit and/or publish high quality research in journals of high repute
contribute to the achievement of Deakin's strategic goals in research, teaching, engagement and innovation
undertake professional and administrative roles and responsibilities that enhance the discipline and Deakin
enhance the quality of teaching and learning activities, including identifying and responding to opportunities to advance the discipline
develop relationships with research, community, industry and government for enhanced teaching and research outcomes
