Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities (PA) and Activities Related to Delivery (ARD). In order to maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate.To be successful in this role you must have at least 5 years' experience as a specialist teacher of literacy and numeracy with a substantial proven record of successful teaching and preferably have experience working with young adults. The successful applicant will have an understanding of the Australian Core Skills Framework, the ability to identify foundation skill gaps of students, sound digital literacy skills, and the ability to deliver and assess using digital technology and the flexibility to deliver across various locations. The applicant must have a relevant formal qualification (or equivalent).The appropriate qualification for a specialist adult language, literacy and numeracy teacher is a post-graduate teaching qualification with one of the following specialisations:adult literacy/numeracy teaching;primary school teaching;secondary school teaching (English, maths, science or special education); orGraduate Diploma of Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice (TAE70111 or TAE80113)SM TAFE prefers lecturers to hold the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116, or TAE40110 and the additional skill sets referred to in Schedule 1, Item 2 of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.
