Job Description In summary, the Laboratory Technical Assistant is responsible for : Assisting the Senior Laboratory Technician in the efficient operation of the winery laboratory Daily duties include routine analyses and managing analysis requests from winemakers If required, a ct as back up to senior technician in laboratory consumable ordering and organisation of laboratory Equipment calibration and troubleshooting Training of vintage or laboratory new staff Sampling and c onducting a variety of different laboratory tests – some of these include: Grape maturity analysis; s ugars; sulphurs; volatile acidity; pH and total acidity; D issolved oxygen (DO); carbon dioxide and alcohol and Fermentation sample collection and analysis Desired Skills and ExperienceTo be successful in for these roles you will need to be able to demonstrate the following: Minimum 1-2 Years' experience in Laboratory Environment Familiarity with current laboratory technologies and equipment Experience in a customer service driven environment Intermediate computer skills with a sound understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications Ability to take initiative in interpreting analytical results and flag problems or potential quality concerns Time management skills – the ability to meet deadlines and operate oneself in an efficient manner The ability to self-manage and work autonomously and work in collaboration with a team Certificate III or IV in Laboratory Techniques Qualification in chemistry, food science or related discipline Degree in Chemistry or Food Sciences Problem-solving abilities that reflect a positive and consultative approach Experience in the Wine Industry or Food / Beverage or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industries Benefits that you will have access to working with our team are: Work in a positive environment that is passionate about wine Receive on the job training and qualifications An environment that supports professional career growth Encouragement of teamwork, innovation, creativity and excellence Workplace flexibility including accrual of Time In Lieu to increase leave days off Supporting our employees to achieve their best is part of our VIBE.
