Account & Relationship Management (Sales)

We have an opportunity for a sales professional to make an immediate contribution to the success of our business.

You will take the lead in developing & winning new business, as well as maintaining and growing sales opportunities within a well-established customer base.
As the face of MRC Global and primary contact for our customers, you will invest in continuously developing relationships, understanding the customer's needs and maximizing sales.

This is a predominantly field-based role, attached to our office in Naval Base WA and reporting directly to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities
Identify, establish and develop new business by conferring with potential customers at all levels and departments to determine business needs and opportunities.
Represent MRC Global professionally by maintaining a positive, customer-centric relationship with new and historical clients.
Develop existing long-term customer relationships, consistently review their needs to increase revenue.
Liaise with management to create and implement a sales and marketing business plan for the account base.
Coordinate with management to establish sales and margin budgets, set targets and review on a regular basis.
Liaise with cross-functional teams internally and externally to achieve and exceed customer expectations.
Prepare and issue weekly call plans.
Prepare and issue weekly visit reports.
Share feedback on customer and competitor activity, identifying and communicating opportunities and threats.
Update CRM, ERP, and other business tools as required.
Prepare and issue monthly forecast information as required by management.
Attend and contribute to regular sales meetings.
About you
3+ years external sales/account management B2B experience with a successful track record of profitable sales delivery in a field-based role, ideally in the oil & gas industries or similar.
Solid knowledge of Pipes, Valves & Fittings products, or similar engineered products is preferred.
Strong commercial acumen.
Ability to negotiate at all levels and manage the expectations of the most demanding customers.
Able to prioritize with good time management skills to maximize working week.
Self-motivated, proven target-driven achiever.
Excellent communication skills – written and verbal with strong presentation skills.
Able to develop strong internal & external relationships.
Change agile, able to respond positively to fast-paced changes in the business environment.
Driving license is essential.
Good working knowledge of MS Office is essential, experience with ERP (e.g.
SAP) is advantageous but not required.
