A global digital consultancy with offices all over Australia are seeking a permanent IT Support Engineer to work for a leading Australian mining organisation onsite at their Worsley based offices and surrounding mines!
Your new role
Established many years ago with operations in over a dozen countries, this globe spanning organisation conducts a myriad of technical services across the software, data, infrastructure, support and project management domains (to name a few). Being well established in Australia, this organisation works with a multitude of companies across several industries from the financial services to the aviation sector. Due to their presence and expertise, this consultancy has partnered with a leading Australian mining organisation to provide technical support to all their mine sites throughout the country.
Your new role in this organisation will see you work within a dedicated on-site multi-disciplinary technology support team comprised of IT Engineers and Field Technicians. This will see you work in a Drive-In, Drive-Out (DIDO) capacity to work both onsite and in the corporate offices.
Within this team you will work throughout the site to conduct IT support across the infrastructure, networking, systems and hardware domains (to name a few). The projects and work you will be conducting will vary to include (but not limited to) Cisco network hardware refreshes, upgrading purpose built on prem data centres, virtualisation maintenance (VMware/vCenter), Windows Server deployments and resolving Windows 10 issues to name a few. As a first point of contact for any IT issues the day-to-day work will always be changing with multiple off-site support teams to escalate issues to available if and when the need arises.
Whilst working for this specialised digital consultancy, you will be reporting into the mining organisations Engineering Managers whilst also liaising with the consultancy for non-IT related issues (such as HR for example). In this capacity, you will be working alongside the sites own engineering team to deliver work (and projects) together. With regards to the successful candidates background, mining experience would of course be advantageous but due to the breadth of this role we are seeking good all round IT Systems engineers with experience across a range of hardware platforms, the Microsoft Eco system and networking technologies in large enterprise level environments.
The working hours (and conditions) for this role benefits from a 9 day fortnight (working Monday to Friday, 6.30am to 4pm) with on call support as and when needed. What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience/knowledge across the following:
Microsoft - Windows Servers and Desktop OS (such as Windows Server 2019, 2016, 2012 R2, Windows 10, etc), Microsoft 365, SCCM, 365, etc Configuration of networking/infrastructure platforms (Switches, Routers, Access Points, fibre optic cabling etc) Hardware (Desktops, Laptops, Mobile Devices etc) maintenance and deployment/rollouts Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Technical mindset Working with stakeholders at all levels Perfect communication skills (written and verbal) NOTE:
