Reporting to the Director, the IT Portfolio Governance Manager (PMO) will play a leadership role in the newly created Governance & Process function within the IT Portfolio Management Office (IT PMO), which has portfolio oversight, on behalf of the Chief Digital Officer, across the whole of the Digital Solution Division's IT system delivery portfolio.This is a new role in the Division's PMO. You will work to refine standardised, scalable, and efficient governance arrangements to support and enable the quality delivery of small and large IT projects. You will be responsible for leading and managing a small team to develop governance processes and requirements as part of the PMO governance function. You will align with existing frameworks and operating models or propose improvements where practical. You will work closely with IT Portfolio Assurance staff and other PMO staff on matters relating to standardising reporting and auditing of IT project Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies (RAID). You will work across the Division to foster a culture that supports performance, quality, and repeatability improvement through innovation, governance and continuous improvement towards project delivery maturity and best practices. You will collaborate with key stakeholders at all levels to enhance the department's internal IT system delivery capability.To lead these outcomes, you will need a combination of project management knowledge, RAID management understanding, analytical skills, critical decision-making, process definition, stakeholder engagement and an ability to lead with clarity and confidence during a time of rapid change and ambiguity in the department.The successful applicant will receive the necessary training, mentoring, and guidance to perform the key responsibilities of the role and to advance their careers in the Australian Public Service (APS). Be accountable for the development and management of a robust portfolio governance and RAID frameworks to maximise the Division's project delivery success and ensure adherence to agreed frameworks.Ensure compliance within the Division with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to portfolio governance and RAID management.Identify, document, and manage risks and issues that may impede the Governance & Process team's progress. Perform a range of support tasks as required, including recruitment and other enterprise initiatives.
